This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am not only fortunate to be teaching special education in the South Bronx, but also to be teaching 50 amazing students science! My students are 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are always looking to challenge each others' thinking.

They are creative and self-motivated individuals who are ready to take their learning to the next level!

My students love to complete hands-on activities where the outcome is to apply their new knowledge to the real world! They love working as a team to move through the scientific process.

My Project

I previously asked for 6 tablets with cases for my self-contained science classes to use in the classroom to complete virtual labs in pairs. This limits my chances to meet the individual needs of students because of them having to share. It is extremely beneficial to be able to give each student a tablet during these activities so that each and every one of my students will get their needs met.

These 6 Amazon Fire tablets will help support the needs of my students each and every day through differentiation of task.

Having the technology accessible will change my practice by providing my students with resources that I did not have before. My students would be forever grateful.
