Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are some of the sweetest and most energetic 4th graders I've ever taught. I teach in an inclusion classroom and have a small group of resource students that will be joining us. In total we will have 20 students with disabilities in the group. With your help we will be able to give them a virtual trip they may never get to experience in real life. We will be purchasing snacks such as popcorn, granola bars, candy, and fruit snacks as well as drinks like water bottles and juices, and hopefully a mini fridge to keep everything cool. We also would like to have souvenir items such as mickey ear headbands, pencil toppers, popits, and mickey bracelets. I also would love to have a photobooth area with a back drop and a camera that prints digital pictures so they can remember this trip and everything they learned.

We are going on a Virtual Field Trip to Walt Disney World.

Our itinerary includes a Social Studies lesson about Walt Disney and his contributions to Florida including a POV of Carousel of Progress. Our Science lesson will be a combination of POV riding Living with the Land and a guided tour of the Flower and Garden Festival with a few snacks. Our Math lesson will have 2 components, the first being a budgeting activity with adding and subtracting with decimals, the second will be a wait times activity involving elapsed time. For reading we will be reading a short story and riding a ride and writing a compare and contrast essay. I can't wait to experience this with my sweet students.
