Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a very diverse classroom of students who all have a great passion of learning. Even though we are virtual right now, my students all have come into the meetings with smiling faces, excited to start our lesson. They currently love to use Bitmoji library rooms I set up for them and are doing a great job of figuring out how to navigate Microsoft Teams. The use of live virtual meetings has allowed us to connect in a way like never before, in a way that is still safe for everyone. We have enjoyed sharing stories with each other, and even getting to meet each other's pets through things like show and tell. I truly have an amazing group of students.

My Project

As we have begun the year with virtual school, I am learning more and more about my students as we login each morning and have our "conversation time."

Many of them have borrowed computers from the school for this dire circumstance, but have gotten ones where the microphones do not work.

Many of them need more pencils to use as they cannot find the ones from before. I will pack up the materials into individual boxes for students to have at home and use. I will also use the TPT card to download online assignments for my students to use. I am using virtual platforms for them to submit their homework. These materials would mean so much for them to have.
