Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day I step into the classroom, I am always thinking of new ways to teach my students literacy that will get my students excited about learning. Over the years, I have been increasing my capacity as a special educator by attending workshops and trainings, that ultimately enhance instruction for my students.

My sixth grade students may have learning disabilities, but they have been committed to engaging in a program of study for shaping their learning for the twenty-first century.

Our school provides an inquiry-based curriculum that promotes understanding across disciplines and encourages students to investigate as scientists, explorers, artists, and researchers.

What I look for to inspire my students, will ultimately help them become self-reliant learners, who are prepared through technology and academic rigor.

My Project

During this unprecedented pandemic, I have had to teach hybrid classes in unique ways. Now I am teaching fully remote for an unknown period of time. Google Meets has been quite interesting and I look forward to being able to present on my screen virtually for students who are also home learning— but it is not always easy given the nature of lessons I have to present, along with the complex nature of presentations I share.

Teaching virtually to students from school or from home has its unique challenges, but the need for up-to-date and working technology is key.

To do this, I would be so grateful for a MacBook Air to be able to present to my students. With a MacBook, I can create many unique lessons and presentations, have students in breakout rooms, and also record myself modeling writing samples.
