My Students

My students need an Apple TV to connect to our projection system and an iTouch to record videos while in the community.

My students have a variety of disabilities and participate in a transition to life class for students ages 18-22.

We participate in the community one full day a week for Community Based Instruction. We are also in the community two other half days a week shopping and using the local public library. My students are very visual learners and benefit from watching how to perform an action through repetitive viewings of the correct way to perform a task. My students also benefit from being able to watch themselves perform an action and with guidance talk about how their performance matches the model performance.

My Project

My students need a way to take and view videos of themselves while participating in weekly community based instruction activities. By using Video Modeling lessons in the classroom student's functional skills in the community will be improved through classroom lessons and practice.

By funding this project you will be bringing video modeling to our classroom and helping a group of young adults increase their potential for being independent in the community in which they live.
