My Students

I teach 5th grade in Spartanburg, SC. We are a Title I school and this year I will be teaching all subjects and I want to use many hands-on activities. My goal is to teach children to love learning and help them succeed not only in the classroom but in life. I love teaching in fun and exciting ways with lots of games and other activities.

My Project

The use of these Versa tiles is using materials that bring fun and logical thinking in my classroom. In my classroom I work with small groups to help assist students who are struggling with certain Math and Reading concepts. While I'm teaching to small groups I am always looking for fun, exciting ways to keep the other 15 or so students engaged and learning. What makes Versa Tiles so great is the practice items go along with our standards and then after the students have done the work there is a self check answer key they can look at to see if they have done the items correctly. The students love doing these and beg to do them every week (we've borrowed these from another classroom teacher).

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and then check to see if they have done it correctly. It's a puzzle and it increases their logical thinking ability at the same time as they do the work.
