Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My football players are some of the greatest kids on the planet. I have been fortunate enough to teach and coach in the greatest city in the world (NYC) and all these kids want to do is better themselves and play football together. We have become a very tight knit family and are as close as any team can possibly get. A lot of the kids cannot afford cleats or quality athletic gear but it does not stop them from getting better everyday, on and off the field.

Most of the kids I coach have grown up quickly at a very young age.

They pick up their younger siblings before and after practice, because they have been tasked with that responsibility. They have to be very mature at a young age but yet still have that commitment and drive to play football.

I have never been more proud to coach a group of young individuals that I am at my school. All I want to do is make these kids experience the best it can possibly be, and so far, we have been able to provide that for them.

My Project

The tackling ring teaches correct form without having to practice on each other and risk injury. The agility bags help teach high knees and helps train them to be faster and more agile. We can also run a lot more effective drills with the bags.

Bringing in new equipment like the ring and bags, gives these athletes and overwhelming sense of excitement.

In addition to that, they help them with the fundamentals of football drastically. They also prevent unnecessary injury in practice!

Please help us give our athletes the equipment they deserve to get better! They are very excited for the season!
