My Students

The students in my pre-K class are three, four and five year olds. They have been screened and found "at risk" for development in either cognitive, language or motor areas. Many of of my students are lacking rich language and literacy experiences, and many of them have deficits in social, emotional, and physical learning experiences. However, they are always eager to learn!

Our mission at the Early Learning Center is to help children and their families acquire the skills that are necessary to be successful in school.

My students learn best through active and purposeful play both outside and inside of our classroom to meet national and state learning standards.

My Project

The boys and girls in my classroom have opportunities available to them offered in many different learning centers throughout the day. One of the most popular centers in the classroom is the art area where they can choose to create however they wish. We need an abundance of art materials to support my students every day and enable them to explore a wide variety of materials. The craft noodles, crayons, quills, collage tubes, shimmering shapes and letters, glitter and colored tape will allow my students to create in an environment full of inspirational materials!

By supporting this project, you will help my students develop their creativity and social skills!

They will learn to focus, feel successful, relax, and express themselves. My students will also be able to develop language skills by discussing their projects working collaboratively. Through the creative process, the boys and girls will be able to problem solve, develop their fine motor skills, build 3D structures, and make collages. Your donation will enable my students to become little Van Goghs!
