This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

You, my incredible donors, helped inspire my students' desire to read by funding mystery books to add to my book clubs. The students LOVED reading "Girl Forgotten" by April Henry.

To continue this love of reading, I want to create a new unit, an author's study on April Henry using literature circles.

With your help funding this project I will purchase 5 sets of different April Henry books. The common genre is crime and mystery. My students make inferences, sort through suspects, argue ethical issues and solve the whodunit working together with their group for each book while also looking more closely at the author and this genre of reading.

Your help has been instrumental in building a library and book clubs that are creating lifelong readers.
