This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me purchase research-based curricula to reach my struggling readers. The Science of Reading highlights the neuroscience behind teaching students to read. By using the phonological awareness and phonics in these resources, our readers who need the most help will receive it.

UFLI is a guide for explicitly teaching phonics to students.

This guide follows a clear scope and sequence that will demystify the rules of English. Heggerty breaks down phonological and phonemic awareness, so that students understand the sounds of the English language. The decodable texts allow them to practice the skills.

Lastly, we have Handwriting without Tears and tactile letter and number formation cards to bolster students' handwriting and increase their fluency when encoding.

Our students need all the support we can give after the effect of the pandemic. I appreciate all the support in order to teach struggling students who need more intervention. Thank you!
