Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of my favorite units of study is our Endangered Animals unit. During this unit, students learn about animal adaptations, endangered animals, and how to write an informational book.

As students learn about their endangered animals, they will create dioramas depicting their animal's habitat.

They will build them out of cardboard and will use the tempera paint sticks to color. Then, they will use the modeling clay to create a model of their endangered animal to include in the diorama. Building these dioramas are a great way to show how much they have learned about what their animal needs in order to survive. Students love taking the information that they have learned and showing it through art. This, in turn, helps them when they are writing because of all the details they include.
