This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Teachers are no longer the gatekeepers of knowledge." My students learn everyday to be resourceful, problem solvers, and use technology to access information and develop new knowledge.

Students in my classroom have diverse backgrounds, abilities and experiences.

However, they all share the same enthusiasm for multimedia activities and technology.

They are very inquisitive about exploring new technology and quite technological savvy for their young age. Even if they don't have a computer or Internet at home, they do manage to get their little hands on their parents' or siblings' smartphones. They are always talking about the latest YouTube video and writing about the video games they play at home.

My Project

Learning multiple subjects and concepts in school can be overwhelming. BrainPop will boost my students’ engagement by providing instructional content in multiple subjects using animation, graphics, audio, text, and interactive quizzes and games. My students will be able to gain background knowledge on different historical events and understand complex scientific concepts through animation and engaging videos. They will have multiple opportunities to engage in discussions to talk about their understanding or clarify information during and after watching BrainPop's short videos. Brain Pop will encourage vivid and enthusiastic academic conversations in my classroom.

Children live in a technological world and they are used to being exposed to information in multiple modalities.

BrainPop will be used in my classroom on a daily basis to review information, support understanding of complex concepts, and build background knowledge on multiple subjects.
