This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students come from single-parent households and low-income families. 100% of our school receives free breakfast and lunch. Regardless of the stability many of my students lack in their home lives, they still remain positive about the world and find it full of wonder. Our school lacks a real cafeteria, auditorium, gym or science/computer lab. Due to Covid protocols, students do not leave their desk for a majority of the day. This makes our classroom the place our children spend a large majority of their time. Students are unable to share supplies this year and must all come prepared with their own which is just not possible for some. Due to this, it is very important that I try to make it as inviting and functional as possible in order to make it useful is a variety of ways.

My Project

In the year 2021, technology is a huge part of our world. Specifically after spending over a year at home learning remotely in New York City we are utilizing the internet more than ever. Lessons are designed with engaging and interactive slideshows including as many different resources as possible. The capabilities of the technology offered to teachers is often limited and causes many disruptions to our daily class schedule. This makes my workflow much slower, limits my ability to be as productive as I can be and wastes valuable learning time. An effective teacher leads to successful students. Please help me be one!
