My Project

As the English Language liaison and teacher for our rural elementary school, I am charged with creating and implementing lessons for all our ELLs, from pre-k to 8th grade. Having use of a Lenovo 2-in-1 laptop will allow my ELLs opportunities to work with some of the best apps for English learners. Some of our ELLs are newcomers to America, with little to no use of technology, so this will allow me to give them introductions to working with tech on a monitored basis, so they then might be able to work independently in some of our more digitally focused classrooms.

This technology will also give me the opportunity to plan lessons and have students complete activities on the same device, without relying on cloud storage or wifi connectivity.

Having apps and lessons downloaded on a device removes any further barriers to helping this group of students learn English and American social norms.
