My Students

Reading books, practicing math facts, typing a presentation, and many more things to do on an iPad! Kids love technology and learn so much when they are actively engaged.

I am in my 15th year of teaching 1st grade.

I have returned to school and earned a Masters in Reading and a Masters in Curriculum. I love to continue to learn because when I am learning I am helping my children to learn. There are always new and exciting things that are happening and I want to be able to share my new found knowledge with my students. I have been at the same school for my 15 years of teaching. My class consist of 23 students who are bright and eager to come to school. They enjoy learning and I try to make their curriculum interesting and fun. Some of my students are from low income homes and are not exposed to technology. All of my students are very excited to learn more about technology.

My Project

I am requesting professional development materials that will help me to become a better teacher. I need First Grade Technology-32 Lessons Every 1st Grader can Accomplish on a Computer. This book will help me to learn how to teach my students how to use an iPad. The kids will learn how to effectively use an iPad. I am also requesting an iPad, case, and Managing the Digital Classroom. Students would be so excited to enter my class and have me show them all kinds of new technology they can use to make reports or research. I want to show them how to build timelines, power points, presentations on research papers and keynote speaker. In order to teach them these exciting tools I need to learn all about them first. I will make lessons fun, exciting, and new. This professional growth for me will reflect in my students growth with technology.

Technology makes everything fun and these resources will allow me to be a better teacher in the age of technology.

Having an iPad in my hands will allow me to be creative and innovative with my instruction. These professional materials will help me integrate technology with our everyday curriculum.
