This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all over the world, creating a culturally rich English language learners (ELL) group. Our school has the fortune of having more than six different languages spoken by ELLs. My school is located in a disadvantaged neighborhood, and we have 98% minorities in the school, from which 16% are ELLs. In this Title I elementary school, 100% of our students receive are eligible for free lunch.

All of my English language learner students are driven to learn English and succeed academically.

Education is something to be valued, and they keep themselves motivated for every skill learned. The perfect tool to help support instruction is the use of Chromebooks.

My students come to English as a New Language (ENL) to learn how to speak, read and write English with the goal of transition into a regular all-English classroom. They come with a positive and respectful attitude and hard work ethics. Funds for technology to support instructional goals are next to non-existent, and I am looking for generous donors to help us close the achievement gap.

My Project

My students are English language learners, or ELLs. They will use the Chromebooks for small group, individual learning and research. The main goal is to learn English using programs such as Google Earth, NASA Kids Club, Google Translate, Merriam Webster Dictionary, MyOn, and Mathletics to name a few. These Chromebooks will help them understand scientific concepts, and it will make a world of difference to so many children who do not have the means to purchase this technology.

My students will be using the Chromebooks to learn with ESL (English as a Second Language) strategies and to enter a world of science learning.

Your donation will allow my students to learn in the best way possible, with technology providing the additional support and resources for them to learn about our planet and the universe. Thank you for your generosity!
