My Students

I teach 18 absolutely amazing second graders! Their enthusiasm for learning astounds me every day. They are like sponges, soaking up every drop of knowledge I send their way.

I am always looking for new and exciting ways to deliver content to these eager learners.

My students thrive in an environment that is creative and exciting. It makes them passionate about learning and want to do more. They want to read more, solve problems, research and write. I am blessed to have these kids and take my responsibility for them very seriously.

My Project

Do you remember your very favorite book from second grade? Was it The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein? Charlotte's Web by E.B. White? I'm going to bet it was NOT your second grade science textbook!

Integrating amazing children's literature with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, also known as STEM, offers me a unique way to bring exciting, engaging, 21st century problem solving skills to my students.

Each lesson will allow students to engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate a problem and will integrate both a fiction and nonfiction book that centers around a topic like robotics, architecture, communication, or animals.
