My Students

My students are an energetic group of kindergarten learners. They come to school excited to learn, discover, and explore. We are a neighborhood school with a diverse population of students from TK-5th grade. The parents, teachers, and school community are dedicated to making sure my students have everything they need to meet the common core standards and more. We spend our mornings learning in language arts and math workshops. Our afternoons are spent doing science, social studies as well as free play time.

Imaginative play is an integral part of our day.

Each day I give my students the opportunity to play with their peers to promote social skills and use toys and manipulatives to create and use their imaginations.

My Project

My students love to build with various types of manipulatives. Many times their creations reflect the lessons being taught.

Plus Plus blocks will give my students the opportunity to create with their peers, work on social skills such as taking turns and working collaboratively.

The blocks will help them with their fine motor skills. The blocks will promote learning in social studies (they like to build the White House and Statue of Liberty when we do our American symbols unit) as well as promote math and spatial skills. The students can be creative either independently or in a small group.
