My Project

"Technology can bring the real world into the classroom, which means that as teachers, we can better prepare students for the exciting adventures that they will face in their future."

With a printer in place, the library becomes an even more effective space where students can access both digital and physical resources to enhance their learning experience.

Our school is a Title I school, identified as a School in Need of Improvement (SINI), with approximately 85% of our students eligible for free lunch. I am the school librarian and help over 1600 students. My students range from honors, English language learners to special education students.

By having a printer in my library, I will be able to utilize it in order to print research projects for all content areas. A printer in the middle school library would be incredibly helpful for students, especially when it comes to completing assignments and projects. Middle school students often have various tasks that require printed materials, such as reports, research papers, and presentations. The printer also supports students who may not have a printer at home, ensuring they don’t face disadvantages due to a lack of resources.

Moreover, a printer in the library promotes independence and responsibility in middle school students. When working on group projects or completing homework, students often need to collaborate and share information. Having a printer in the library encourages them to take ownership of their tasks, print out important materials, and organize their work more effectively. For students with learning disabilities or those who benefit from physical copies of materials to help with focus, the printer can provide an essential tool for improving their academic experience. By offering such a resource, the library becomes an even more valuable space for supporting students' learning and success.
