A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I'm a history teacher at one of the most unique high schools in the country. We are a public HS specializing in teaching visual & performing arts located near Lincoln Center in NYC. Our school provides conservatory curriculum in dance, visual art, acting, music, singing, and technical theater (computers, sound, stage, carpentry) in addition to rigorous academic classes. We have one of the longest school days in the nation for HS students with 10 periods a day, of which 2-3 periods are specifically for their artistic studio.
We are so fortunate to have a dual mission which supports students' traditional academic learning while nurturing their artistic passions.
Students attend our school from all 5 boroughs of NYC, and we also have many international students from all corners of the globe. We work hard to teach our diverse students as they grow into academic scholars and dedicated artists.
Now I am asking for your support in my classrooms. My students need basic supplies of tissues & paper towels, as our school does not provide these essentials. These are needed now more than ever with COVID & trying to keep my classrooms clean & safe. In addition, I am asking for materials, U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence booklets, to help my students study US History and US Government as they prepare for their state exams this year. I am going to save these materials for future students to use as well!
