Urban Farming

My students need the Keter Urban Bloomer, two Watex Metal Mobile Green Walls, seed starter pots, and the Survival Essentials Non GMO seed banks in order to have students eat healthier and connect gardens to classes.

My Students

My students are an eclectic and well-rounded group with a lot of character and drive. They constantly show a lot of determination and hard work. My student are from Camden, NJ which is an urban area and often been categorized as a food desert. Thus the Urban farming project.

My students are very open to experiencing new things and love the outdoors.

The things that make them special are that they are bright, creative and fun. They are more than willing to experience an opportunity to grow fruits and vegetables and taste them!

My Project

These items will make an impact on children in the following three areas, growth and development, education, and health and wellness.

Developing an urban farm will give children the opportunity to play in soil and plant fruit and vegetables.

The Watex Mobile Green Walls and the Keter Urban Bloomer would give the students an opportunity to grow vegetables in or outdoors.This will allow children to get exercise as well as spend time outdoors. Students will gain knowledge about the life cycle of a seed and all cultivating plants.

Lastly, students will learn to make healthier choices and try eating vegetables and fruits that may not have had the chance to experience.
