This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi everyone, I am a fourth-year middle school science teacher in, hoping to update my classroom library! At our school, we have a "Drop Everything And Read" (DEAR) program as well as Accelerated Reading (AR) designed to make reading a part of daily practice for scholars (& staff). I'm excited to meet 150+ scholars in 8th grade this Fall and my new Advisory class of incoming 6th-grade students.

Classroom libraries continue to be a powerful way to help students build a strong literacy foundation and a love of reading, which our scholars are in the process of developing.

Therefore, to continue our commitment to providing literacy education in our content classes, Advisory and Accelerated Reading programs. The books requested in this project will do just that!
