Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 20 students are members of a third grade inclusion classroom in the middle of a large city. Inclusion classrooms in our district combine general education students (75%) and students with special needs (25%). Together, these diverse learners tackle grade-level content and standards.

They are eager to explore new academic content each day, and they learn best through hands-on experiences.

I am eager to build a comfortable and inspiring classroom environment, where students feel cared for and are engaged in learning.

My Project

A contribution to this project will support hands-on, interactive and updated learning in my classroom. Items like bulletin borders and reusable laminate pockets will create space for student work to shine. Additions like multiplication games, a mechanical scale and 1-quart measuring cup will supplement our math curriculum and materials.

A speaker and headphones will allow for independent and whole group interaction with chrome books and a projector.

Text sets, inspired and suggested by last year's third graders, will excite independent and buddy readers. Fresh mentor texts will promote social emotional growth and help build a strong classroom community.
