Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the words of Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”. I’ve been blessed with an opportunity to help my students strengthen their communication skills despite their different abilities. Whether they are engaging in aural rehabilitation or learning a new language system, my students deserve the opportunities to excel and become independent thinkers but more so independent communicators. Giving them the chance to have their voices heard is my ultimate goal. These students strive to succeed in their instructional environment. My students are from culturally diverse- low-income households across The Bronx and will benefit from any support possible. My students are resilient!

It is through their resilience that I am truly motivated to seek the best possible resources for them.

They are concrete and visual learners who benefit from interactive lessons and additional endless possibilities offered by resources created by like minded individuals- EDUCATORS!

All of my students are visual learners who benefit from a multi-sensory approach to learning which includes but is not limited to the manipulation of pictures, sounds and other crucial aspects offered through digitized resources. These resources include lessons that are designed for the population I service for example- auditory discrimination exercises that target audition, minimal pairs activity that target errors in articulation, phonemic awareness activities that helps build literacy development, manual communication boards that allow my non-verbal students to communicate effectively and much more. Teachers understand the dire need of interactive lessons that motivate the students to be their best selves and it is through your support that I can achieve this.
