This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second-grade classroom is full of energetic, curious learners, but many of my students are still struggling with foundational reading skills. A significant portion of them are non-readers, and as their teacher, I want to provide them with the tools they need to succeed. Early literacy skills are critical to their overall academic development, and having the right phonics materials can make a huge difference in helping them become confident, fluent readers.

The phonics materials I am requesting will help my non-readers by building their letter-sound relationships and blending skills.

By using interactive tools like phonics games, my students will be able to practice and master these essential skills in an engaging way.

Using phonics-based activities, I aim to help my students improve letter recognition, sound blending, and decoding words.

Phonics materials that incorporate games and hands-on learning will make reading exciting and enjoyable for my non-readers.

With regular practice and support, I hope to build my students’ confidence in their reading abilities, encouraging them to become more independent readers.
