This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special education students are extraordinary learners who possess incredible potential but face unique challenges in literacy development. Despite their remarkable cognitive abilities, traditional reading materials often fail to spark their interest or match their learning needs. The Yoto players, carefully selected audiobooks, and complementary physical books will be transformative tools that bridge the gap between their cognitive potential and current reading levels.

The goal of this project is to provide adaptive literacy resources that engage and inspire our students.

The Yoto players and supporting items will support individualized learning through multi-sensory reading experiences. This will increase reading motivation and comprehension for students requiring extensive educational support and create an inclusive learning environment that celebrates each student's unique learning journey.

The Yoto players will be game-changing tools for our students by offering audiobooks that match their cognitive interests while supporting their current reading levels. It will give them independent learning opportunities that build confidence and self-directed skills. It will also unlock multisensory learning experiences that accommodate diverse learning needs and be a bridge between students' advanced cognitive understanding and developing literacy skills

These students require specially designed instruction that goes beyond traditional teaching methods. These resources will provide precisely targeted support, helping them overcome literacy challenges while honoring their individual strengths and learning potential. By offering books that are intellectually stimulating yet appropriately challenging, we can ignite a passion for reading and learning that extends far beyond the classroom. Every contribution will directly impact students who need extraordinary support to unlock their full learning potential.
