Unlocking a Love for Reading: Horror and Gothic Texts Required!

My Project

Our new Horror and Literature of the Unknown course has taken off--filling five sections, but our school board and district do not have the funds to put books in my students' hands. This course is geared towards students who need accessible, fun, and interactive texts to make learning about classic and modern horror adaptations relevant, exciting, and meaningful to them. The students enrolled in this class mainly come from underrepresented communities in the school district and these texts will make reading and writing feel like an engaging experience. Help me capture their imagination, and maybe even scare them a little, as they take this course that helps fulfill their graduation requirements. They will be so appreciative of texts that they actually want to read (sorry, Shakespeare!)
