This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students in middle school might have learning disabilities, and still they are brilliant! Disabilities like dyslexia can detrimentally limit students when tasked with composing essays.

They are bright, critical thinkers with a barrier that prevents them from showing their thinking in writing--that's why we need these headsets!

We have been working past this barrier by using voice typing, or speech to text. Currently, the few headsets that I have to offer my students are old and inefficient. The microphones pick up noises from across the room. Through a careful process, my students and I have tried out many headsets in the school environment, and this headset works the best for both ear reading and voice typing. Funding this project will unlock the brilliance of my students so that they can put their thoughts into writing.
