Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of the students are part of an IB program and are in their 3rd year of Spanish.

My students come from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

All of them share in common the love for the Spanish language.

This year we have the visit of some of the students of one of our sister classrooms in Galapagos Island, Ecuador. This project will benefit not only my students but the entire school because it involves a mural. The theme of the mural is Unity and Tolerance. Our Ecuadorian visitors and our students will all work together to paint this mural at our school.

My Project

We are a very diverse school with different programs that will come together to paint it. They are also working together with 10 students from our sister classroom in Galapagos, Ecuador. All of the students will have the opportunity to work with peers that may speak a different language or that come from a different cultural and socioeconomic background.

We are asking for paint supplies to create a mural at our school.

They students will come together to create a mural with the theme Unity and Tolerance. The mural will have elements of both Florida and Ecuador and will be an interactive mural that will have quotes in different languages that will connect to a blog using QR codes.
