Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are children with disabilities who have individualized education plans. Day in and day out they have proven to be a unique bunch with different learning styles. Being a teacher, I know some techniques work for my students, but I also know some techniques don't work.

My students are capable of anything they put their mind to showing that with hard work, dedication, and the right tools they can thrive.

Beyond the challenges my students face, they are amazing.

Having access to technology like an iPad Pro and MacBook Air will help create personalized learning experiences for my students. My students are unique and have different learning styles that require several different methods of teaching. Some challenges my students face is needing voice recognition software simply because they have visual and motor impairments. Whereas other students face challenges such as not being able to put pencil to paper so they need artificial intelligence that can transcribe what they aren't able to write. Those are just a few challenges that bring social emotional anxiety to my students every day.

Having a MacBook Air and iPad Pro would allow my students to use speech to text software when it is required for to complete written assignments allowing my students to words transcribed for them and getting their ideas down quicker providing more clarity than writing. I also plan on using the MacBook Air and iPad Air during centers a time where children will use different reading and math curriculum websites such as reading A-Z and I-ready that will help them practice skills they have learned in class. Of course, I need more than what I asked for, but this is just the start to help my students thrive more in my care.
