My students come from all over the world, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Africa to name just a few. My students are from poverty-stricken areas around the world. They come to our country with very little and do not have the basic necessities at home. I have many times provided things my children need such as uniforms, jackets, shoes, socks, backpacks, bedding, and even first aid supplies. This year I am overwhelmed with the number of students that I teach that it has become increasingly difficult to provide for them.
I want to provide them with necessities so they can feel confident at school.
My students often come to this country with nothing but the clothes they have on. Starting over can be very difficult for my families and to alleviate the stress on my students I want to have uniforms on hand. I have seen the increase in confidence when they have clean clothes and the proper uniform on opposed to when they come to school with holes in their pants or dirty clothes. In turn students who look good will feel good and then learning can take place!
