Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are brilliant, highly motivated individuals who come from different part of the world. The majority of them have lived in poverty all their lives, making with their parents a harrowing journey to come to the United States. Many have experienced extreme dangers and tests of physical endurance.

Today they attend an American school and are learning to adapt to realities very different than those they left behind.

Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential.

Unfortunately, because of their immigration status and lack of employment it has been very hard for their parents to provide them with shelter and basic needs. With your help, we can provide them with basic needs such as uniforms and shoes so that they can achieve their goals.

My Project

This school year, I would like to give to all my students uniforms and coats for the winter time. The uniforms and shoes will be used by our students. Parents will have peace of mind knowing that their kids have everything they need to come to school and learn; instead of worrying that they will be singled out and a phone call will be made home, or their child will feel out of place when they come to school and are not dressed the same as the other students. They will have shoes and socks to go with it.

With all our children in uniforms, there will be less bullying and more equality.
