Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of students have immigrant parents or are immigrants themselves. They have different living situations, and they come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Ninety-nine​ percent of the students that attend my school receive free and reduced-price lunch. But that doesn't deter their passion for equality, fairness and their support for one another. They help bear each other’s burdens on a daily basis and in doing so they have developed a special bond. My students are some of the most caring and joyful people I have ever had the opportunity of knowing.

They recognize the challenges they face and realize that each day they are receiving the tools and skills to help them have choices in their education and their life.

My students are very passionate and very driven to stand up for their rights as well as the rights of others who may be vulnerable in any given situation.

My Project

My students need to focus on learning in the classroom instead of having their basic needs met. The majority of our students (especially the homeless ones) can’t afford to purchase school uniforms while others don’t have the means to keep up with good hygiene. Your support will ensure that all of our students have long uniform shirts and pants during the winter season and products to keep them healthy. Our school is a community school and our goal and mission is to make sure the children in the community also stay on their academics with the least distraction possible. With your help, our kids wont have to focus on anything else than academic success. Help me give our students uniform shirts, pants, sweaters and hygiene products
