My Students

My students are a diverse group of kids who have various strengths and needs. They are in a self-contained class that includes students who are diagnosed with multiple disabilities. When they come to the classroom, they are eager to learn and are motivated to try their best in each classroom subject and activity. Watching them grow each day is a privilege.

To help them succeed in the classroom, my students benefit from multi-sensory activities and flexible seating options.

My students are best supported through a highly structured environment with hands on learning and visual supports. Supporting their needs promotes communication and interaction among peers and adults.

My Project

This year our students will be entering school in a very challenging time. They will be learning a lot about needs and wants. Each kid will be able to differentiate between needs and wants, which would promote their financial literacy skill building.

When safety is of the highest concern, we are individualizing each student's supplies.

Usually we would share materials. However, we need to make sure that each kid has their own supplies. We want to take pride in our classroom culture and will celebrate this by creating classroom tshirts for the class.

Since this is a special needs classroom, we will need to have differentiated materials. We will be utilizing printer ink materials to produce these differentiated worksheets.
