My Students

The students in our Title I school are creative, curious, and anxious to learn about the world. They love using technology and participating in hands-on experiences in class.

Although many have not had experiences where they have been able to travel and connect with others who are different than themselves, they are are eager and curious to learn about the world outside of our small, rural community.

It is important that they have experiences that will allow them to have an appreciation and respect for other citizens of the world.

My Project

When students have an opportunity to complete work at their own pace, they are more engaged and are able comprehend more. With a Nearpod subscription, I will be able to deliver lessons to my students that they can complete at their own pace.

Students will be able to utilize the virtual reality lessons within Nearpod to learn social-emotional skills like mindfulness, listening to understand, and speaking to be heard.

The digital citizenship lessons will allow students to learn how to behave responsibly and ethically online.

With the Ethnic Studies bundle, students will be able to learn from the actions of famous people during the civil rights movement, women's movement, and learn how historical narratives have been affected.

This is so important because my students live in a community that lacks diversity. There is not a local resource for them to learn about these historical events from first person narratives. Nearpod will allow them to learn from others' experiences and perspectives to connect with historical events and understand how they have impacted the world we live in.
