Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Spanish to middle school students who are excited about learning a new language, are open-minded and hard working.

During a time when we need to bridge the divide in the world, help me facilitate the celebration of different cultures and similarities that will bring us closer together by funding this project.

Diversity is an asset that I want my students to embrace and celebrate and this is something that we must highlight in schools from the moment children walk in. Living in New York City gives my kiddos the exposure and I want to help facilitate the understanding and acceptance.

My Project

Having Chromebooks in the classroom would help my students research, expand and enhance their learning of a new language and culture. Having immediate accessibility to their own computers is an immeasurable resource for my classroom. These computers can be used to access "IXL Spanish" as well as give me an additional ability to assign differentiated work whether in the classroom or for homework which would then allow students to work at their own pace.

With a set of computers students can reach well beyond what the textbooks can ever teach them with up-to-date virtual realia.

I can only imagine how much the learning will further with tools they gravitate towards in this very techie world!
