This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every month since being back in the classroom I have students ask me at least 5 times if they are going to do a dissection. My students have had it rough, spending most of their time at home they've had to conduct science simulations online. This year I have been able to provide them with in-person hands-on enriching inquiry tasks that have rekindled their love for science. I would like to continue to provide this by providing them with the dissection activity they so desperately want.

Dissection is usually done in the 7th grade, however, since most of my students were home or hybrid during the 2020-2021 school year, they were unable to complete this wonderful core science experience.

With your help, you will provide the necessary materials for me to conduct a dissection as a review of body systems that complex life forms have. My students' love for science has grown exponentially and I would love for it to continue further into high school and beyond, and by providing this experience we will be able to do just that!
