This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic and energetic English Language Learners in grades K-2. They reside in the south Bronx, which has one of the highest poverty rates in the country. The families of most of my students have limited to no resources at home to support their educational and academic needs. They are learning English as well as academic content, which is a challenge! They rely on their school to provide that support...

Most of my students struggle with reading and are below grade level in regard to their literacy skills in English. I invite you to assist me in their education!

My Project

Two monitors will help me see my students while I am teaching them remotely. It will keep us actively engaged with each other while I share lessons and resources on the screen. I would be able to continue to interact with my students such as answering their questions and seeing their reactions such as visual cues and feedback when I am sharing my screen with them. The two monitors will allow me to share my screen on one monitor and still see my students on the other. Working with two screens will allow me to have different windows and programs open at the same time. This will enhance the remote teaching and learning experience. A second monitor will be a great addition to my remote classroom.
