My Students

My Students live in a city environment. Most of them walk to school during a normal year. During the pandemic, 80% of students are at home with parents, care giver, or older siblings who are also working remotely from home. Students have gotten into rhythm with remote learning, being able to log in each day.

They often bring their device to school (if they choose attend once or twice a week) so as to avoid using paper during pandemic times.

The computer screen acts like their text book at times and being able share clear images of my lessons is important to them as well as me.

My Project

I teach Health to students in K-8th grade setting. I will be able to see all the students in most classes and be able to respond to questions when students raise there hand on line. I can see faces of struggling students a lot easier with an additional screen especially the size of 23".

Students also respond better when I see the struggles they are having, rather than waiting for a hand or a message written in a chat room.

Students are required to have cameras on, but if I cannot see them, it really defeats the purpose.
