Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in an large urban school district most of my students come from a low-income/high poverty environment. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. The school I teach in has a diverse student population that includes English Language Learners and students with learning disabilities. Being at school for many of them is the only place they find peace. Despite the many challenges they face, my students keep a positive outlook and are always eager to learn. I am always trying to keep things new and creative while providing meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

This past year has introduced teachers to a new way of teaching which relies even more heavily on technology. We have learned to use new platforms but need help to use them more efficiently.

Having a second monitor screen would allow me greatly enhance my remote instruction because I can use transition between platforms such as Zoom, and Google Classroom more efficiently and have more time to engage with my students and provide more dynamic instruction.

A second screen will allow me to always have one screen with Zoom so I can see comments and the other screen can be used to present learning and lesson materials.
