My Project

This year, I'm taking over the TV Production class. This class is focused on creating the news segments for the students at our school, but also allows students opportunities to creatively create videos to share with the school. We have a lot of the essentials, like a camera and a microphone for filming, but we students could really see the whole production process better with some extra tools. The Teleprompter will give students experience "performing" while reading, and is designed so that the camera can be aimed directly at their eye line, just like a professional news studio. The portable green screen will be valuable when we need to film multiple segments at the same time. The voiceover microphone and soundproofing station will be valuable for recording those audio bits that go over other footage or if we need to re-record audio that gets messed up. These tools will also be available to other classes that want to use them, including my other English classes.

TV and other video production is a 21st century skill that I'm super excited to teach to the students of my school this year.
