Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Nationwide we are experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic struggles. Millions of Americans are without a job, food, or a place to stay. Some of my students are home taking distance learning classes and we are eager to bring them back to face to face instruction.
I teach at a Title I campus where the majority of the students are English language learners.
All students in our district receive free lunch. My students are very energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn new things.
My Project
I am asking for snacks for them to eat during tutorials after school. Some of these students go home and they do not have a warm meal at home. My students are struggling with parents that have lost their jobs. We were hit by a Winter storm last week and the whole community lost power. Parents notified me that they had to throw all their food because they were without electricity for more than 6 days. I want to make sure they eat something before they go home. These snacks will be utilize given to them twice per week before tutorials.
