Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are seeking resources to create a sustainable paper-making station in our classroom. This includes frames, screens, and other materials necessary to recycle used paper into new notebooks. By making their own notebooks from scratch paper, students will learn about the chemistry of paper-making, including cellulose's properties and the water's role in the process, and gain practical experience in upcycling and sustainability.

The goal of this project is twofold: to enhance students' understanding of chemical processes and environmental science and to foster a culture of sustainability.

Students will see firsthand how their actions can influence the environment and learn valuable lessons in resource management and creativity.

What makes my students unique is their curiosity and enthusiasm for applying what they learn to make a positive impact. This project will provide them with the tools to take ownership of their learning environment, turning everyday waste into valuable educational resources. By supporting this initiative, you’re not just helping us manage classroom resources effectively; you’re investing in young environmental stewards, innovative thinkers, and future scientists.
