My special education ELA students are multi-talented and diverse, representative of our suburban NJ school district. Meeting the unique learning needs of each student in a high school special education classroom is crucial to their success. Tailoring instruction and support ensures that all students, regardless of their challenges, can access the curriculum and succeed.
My classroom is a place where every student, regardless of their learning challenges, has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
However, to ensure that my students have the tools they need for success, they need some additional resources.
I am working on fostering a love for literature and am hoping to provide each student with a copy of The Great Gatsby Deluxe Illustrated Edition to help bring classic literature to life. These illustrated editions offer a more engaging way for students to connect with the text, especially for those with diverse learning needs. Research shows that a nourished body supports a focused mind. Snacks will keep my students energized and ready to learn. They will love the variety of chips.. I am also in need of basic classroom supplies such as tissues and band-aids to ensure the well-being of my amazing students throughout the day.
