My students range from kindergarteners to 8th graders. They are curious, creative, and courageous students in need of some fine-tuning of their social-emotional skills. As their school counselor, I deal with a variety of their social-emotional needs.
Due to the number of students that I work with and the various skills they require, many resources, materials, and technologies are required to aid them in becoming the best students they can be.
Help me support them the best that I can.
My Project
I have a tiny office with clunky furniture to provide counseling to my students. In order to maximize the space that I do have to counsel students while adhering to social distancing guidelines, I need smaller and sleeker furniture with a different configuration. This would free up space in the center of my office and give it more of a warm homey feel. My goal is to make my students feel as comfortable as possible during a time that feels scary and uncertain. I hope to create a better counseling environment by creating more space in my office and help bring a sense of normalcy to my students while they are in school.
