Help Mrs. Farrell

I am a first grade teacher at a Title I school where over 44% of our student population participates in our free breakfast and lunch program. Also, a significant number of our student population are English Language Learners. Our families come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

I use an overhead projector for much of my teaching. Our classroom projector is outdated, burns out bulbs quickly and when it doesn't function any more, our financially strapped school district will not replace it. Also, the projector is big and blocks the view of some of the students. Its fuzzy images can impact the effectiveness of my lessons. When it is on, it is noisy and can be detrimental for students with any hearing disabilities.

With the ELMO Document Camera the lessons with come to life, clear, precise and in color! It will engage the students in learning and create excitement for the topics being presented. No more wasting resources on making transparencies. The ELMO can be connected to my laptop, opening up endless opportunities for student learning.
