Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fifth grade class consists of 13 smart, enthusiastic and energetic students who strive everyday to make the honor roll and to excell in their academics. They are kind hearted and always try to do the right thing. They enjoy all kinds of activities especially outdoor ones. My students come from many different economic backgrounds. They have hard working parents that came to this country in order to see their sons and daughters achieve their dreams. Our school is a Title I school. 85 % of my class have free or reduced lunch. Many of them are being raised by a single parent; others have parents that cannot assist them in their school work due to the fact that they do not speak English. Our class is ethnically diverse and we have different languages that include English, Spanish, Dutch, and Arabic.

On September 2017, our city was hit by a massive hurricane causing destruction and chaos in our community.

Many of my students were without power for over a week. Our city was suddenly changed including our schools. Our school suffered many damages from loss of power, water leaks and down trees. The school backyard was filled with down trees.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will help my students with their social,skills. They will learn to enjoy playing in teams.

These materials will help my students with their social skills and help them release stress and become happier Children.

They can participate in team sports and learn how to share and take turns. Several of my students are involved in school related clubs which take a lot of their extra time; they also have working parents are it’s difficult for them to get together with friends after school. These games could be enjoyed during their recess time which is mandatory everyday.

My hard working students will be ecstatic once they hear the news and see the materials we received.
