This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Second Grade is an important grade level where students need to solidify their reading skills. Students are transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. My students work hard everyday to be a better student.

We are a class of 21 hard working and innovative second grade students.

We attend a K-5 Title 1 elementary school. We start each day with P.E. This helps get our bodies moving and wake up our minds. Our day is structured around interaction with each other to increase our vocabulary and oral skills. We are busy integrating technology into our to daily routine.

My Project

Technology can be used in many different ways: instruction, intervention, enrichment and enjoyment. Each way requires a different level of focus. During the day students have several opportunities to use iPads, Netbooks and Chromebooks. These devices would be best utilized with headphones for each student. The headphones will help to minimize distractions while on the computer or for those who are receiving instruction from the teacher.

Our students are so grateful for any support they receive.

Many do not have opportunities at home to access the Internet and computers. As teachers, we try to expose our students to the skills and technology that will make them successful in the future.
