This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
In my third grade classroom, students spend at least 20 minutes a day reading their favorite books on various sites on their computers as well as working on math and literacy programs throughout the whole day. All of my students, are on different levels and they love to challenge themselves and read higher level books! This is where headphones are such a necessity! They are able to follow along with read alouds to increase their sight word knowledge and focus on their understanding of the text. This also is helpful for students who are unable to read on their own, but still want the freedom to independently read like the rest of the class.
By donating to our project, you are giving 16 students the opportunity to challenge themselves and build their reading confidence all while helping my students with disabilities achieve their own personal goals.
With each student being able to use a pair of headphones, they have the freedom to choose a book based on what they want to read and not have to compromise their own personal needs. Help encourage my class to pursue their love of reading!
