This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a wonderful elementary school in Denver as a Reading and Math Interventionist. My students in K-5 are so special to me because they always come into school every morning with big smiles on their faces and are ready to learn new things, despite the hardships and challenges that they may face at home.

Unfortunately, my school district does not provide tuition reimbursement for teachers pursuing another degree but I want to continue my education so that I can be an even better teacher for my students, especially in math.

I’m seeking a Masters in Elementary Math at Western Governors University. The courses are all online and their payment plan is for the entire masters, not class by class. I’m requesting help with a portion of the total tuition.

These courses will help me learn new skills and techniques to help kids in kindergarten through fifth grade who struggle in math.

I want to better serve my students and am always interested in learning about "today's best teaching practices.” Thank you for your consideration!
